The video below explains my interim escape plan to move out of my current employment to a better situation. We all get into soul-sucking cycles. This is one way to break out. Check out the video for more info. You may just want to launch your own escape plan.

I just saw some shows that I have not seen in a while that originated in England. Living abroad so much, I have an appreciation of the entertainment offered in other countries.
I get asked a lot what I think about foreign entertainment. I generally say that it is different from ours. The fact is, a lot of our shows are popular over there and a lot of their shows get remade for our networks. Still, there is a difference.
Television, and all other forms of entertainment are made for revenue both here and abroad. That is the same. The difference, in my opinion is that foreign entertainment tends to take more risks and is generally made with more of a spirit of fun. Much less serious in nature.
They get away with it as they are OK with scrapping something and starting over instead of dedicating resources to ideas that may not be that great. They make limited runs. Their seasons are shorter and do not follow a set schedule. Look at the Office. In the UK, two short seasons and a two hour special then done. Over here, it stopped being all that good years ago, yet on it goes.
That would be the difference, in my opinion. It is not quality as they make crap shows in other countries and we make quality shows here. It is the way they approach the whole process that differs.
Different does not mean better, just different.
Cheers,
Eban
